The B+E test will consist of the following elements:
- Eligibility Check: The examiner will need to see your driving licence (plastic bit)
- Eyesight Test: You will be asked to read a car number plate 20.5 meters distance (If you are unable to do this then the test will be recorded as a fail and will not proceed any further)
- Question & Answers: the examiner will ask you 5 show & tell questions from the list of 15 questions provided by the DVSA (Incorrect answers to all 5 questions will result in a fail)
- Reversing Manoeuvre: You will be asked to complete a specific S reversing manoeuvre to demonstrate your safe control of the car and trailer.
- Uncoupling & Recoupling Procedure: This task is quite simple but you are required to prove that you can maintain through set routines complete control of your trailer.
- The Drive: You will be asked to drive the car and trailer on various roads for approx. 50 minutes. This will include a 10 minute independent drive. This is test of your driving ability. You can fail the test if the examiner feels your driving skills do not meet the DVSA driving test standard.
